Australian Government recognises OIC Cambodia's pioneering work
I'm excited to announce that, along with 14 others from ASEAN and Australia, I've been selected for the Australia-ASEAN Emerging Leaders Program 2018. I'll be taking part in the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit, and meeting the Prime Minster, in Sydney in March. This is wonderful recognition of the work OIC Cambodia is pioneering in speech therapy in Cambodia. Though it's my name on the press release, it's really a reflection of the tireless work and dedication of hundreds of volunteers, staff, supporters and advisors for coming on 5 years now.Without your help, OIC would not be alive, we would never have launched our social business, Happy Kids Clinic, or our awareness and fundraising initiative, Day Without Speech. We've touched thousands of lives, and we've still got a long way to go.But this kind of recognition from the Australian Government, access to networks in the region, and a platform to talk about unaddressed issues is a great stepping stone. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all the wonderful OIC supporters out there - there are far too many to name. Special thanks to Celia Boyd for nominating me for this program. You can find the Press Release with more detail from the Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop, here.
